A quick locking weightlifting belt is an easy way to brace for squats, deadlifts and Olympic lifts. It fastens with a heavy-duty hook-and-loop strap and a quick-locking metal buckle, so you can snug it up for a heavy set and loosen it while you rest. Every Bay Gear Co. quick locking belt is $34.99 in sizes S to XL, in Black, OD Green, Caution or the THICC AF donut print.

Quick locking belt buying guide and FAQ
How to choose a quick locking belt
A lifting belt gives your core something firm to brace against when you take a big breath and tighten up before a heavy rep. A quick locking belt does that with a hook-and-loop strap that feeds through a metal buckle. Pull it tight, press the strap down, and you're set. Releasing it takes a second, which makes it easy to loosen between sets and tighten again before the next one.
Quick locking vs lever belts
A lever belt closes to exactly the same tightness every time, but changing that setting takes a screwdriver. A quick locking belt adjusts on the fly, which is handy if you move between squats, deadlifts and Olympic lifts in one session, or if you train in classes and need to gear up fast. It's also lighter and softer than a leather belt. Our best weightlifting belt guide compares the options.
Sizing
Our belts come in S, M, L and XL. Measure around your waist where you'll actually wear the belt, usually at your belly button, not your pants size, and compare it with the size chart on the product page. Because the strap adjusts, you have some range within each size.
How to wear it
Most lifters wear the belt around the belly button, snug enough that they can still take a full breath and push out against it. Our guide on how to wear a weightlifting belt covers placement and tightness step by step.
When to use it
Many lifters save the belt for heavier sets of squats, deadlifts and overhead presses and skip it for lighter work. Not sure you need one yet? Read Should I Wear a Lifting Belt? Curious about the difference a belt makes? See How Much Does a Lifting Belt Add?
Pick your style
All four belts are $34.99. Black and OD Green have a rubber embossed Bay Gear Co. logo, Caution has our yellow and black print, and THICC AF has a bold pink donut print. Check each product page for details.
Care
Wipe your belt down after training and let it air dry. Keep the hook-and-loop closed when you store it so it doesn't collect lint. More tips: How to Wash Knee Sleeves and Wrist Wraps.
Bundles
The Lock & Load bundle pairs a quick locking belt with knee sleeves, wrist wraps and lifting straps in one order.

FAQ
Lever belt vs. quick locking belt: which should I get?
A lever belt gives the most rigid support and locks to
the exact same tightness every time. It’s a strong choice for heavy squats and
deadlifts. Ours is genuine leather suede with a stainless steel lever. A quick
locking (Velcro-style) belt is lighter, adjusts quickly between sets, and feels
more comfortable for CrossFit, Olympic lifts, and general training. Our Black
and OD Green quick locking belts use a heavy-duty hook-and-loop strap.
How tight should a lifting belt be?
Your lifting belt should be tight enough that you can
brace hard against it, but loose enough that you can still take a full breath
into your belly. A common rule is being able to fit about two fingers between
the belt and your stomach when you’re relaxed. Then breathe in and push your
stomach out into the belt. It should feel firm all the way around your torso,
not just at the back.
When should I start wearing a weightlifting belt?
You don’t need a weightlifting belt for every set. Many
coaches suggest learning to brace without one first, then adding a belt once
your squats and deadlifts get heavy, often around your bodyweight or more. Use
it on heavy compound lifts and top sets, and skip it for warm-ups, machines,
and accessory work. That way you keep building core strength on your own.
What size lifting belt should I get?
Measure
around your waist where the belt will actually sit, usually around your belly
button, not your pants size. Then compare that number to our size chart. Bay
Gear Co. lever belts come in XS through 3XL, and quick locking belts come
in S through XL.
